Program Committee
The Program Committee consists of at least five Chapter members, and one member must be the Chapter's professional
development officer (a requirement of APA). The Committee's main responsibility is to provide continuing education
services and to promote ethical planning practices among Chapter members. The Committee is responsible for soliciting
and selecting topics for programs each calendar year.
The Committee establishes an annual schedule of programs and provides logistical support for programmed activities.
Under the guidance of the professional development officer, assistance with exam preparation for the AICP exam for members
who are interested in obtaining the certification is provided. Volunteers are always welcome on the Program Committee, and
all members are encouraged to submit program ideas to the Committee chair.

Publicity & Communications/
Newsletter Committee
Providing valuable and timely information to Chapter members is one of the core services of CCAPA. The Publicity
and Commutations Committee is responsible for publishing the Chapter newsletter and developing content for and
maintaining the Chapter's web site. This Committee is expected to expand its role beyond member communication to
also communicate the positions or opinions of the Chapter to the general public, the news media, and elected and
appointed officials, and will be instrumental in raising the profile of the Chapter and the profession. Chapter
members interested in writing articles, editorials, or content for either the newsletter or the web site are welcome.

Government Relations Committee
The Government Relations Committee consists of at least nine Chapter members, at least three of which must have
AICP certification. At least one member of the Committee must be a municipal planner, another a regional planner,
and another a planning consultant. Over the years the Government Relations Committee has established an important
and respected presence at the state legislature and is called upon to review pending legislation. The Committee
also develops and articulates Chapter positions on legislation and other important planning issues. We rely on
the Government Relations Committee to communicate with federal, state, and other agencies regarding land use policy
and planning issues important to the State and to the membership.
